Two Dogs

A short piece about walking with an old dog you’ve known forever and a new dog you’re just getting to know.

I walk with two dogs: one old, one young.

One is a walking well of memories - of deep knowing between the two of us. Understanding each other’s every breath‚ every movement‚ every blink of an eye and every little sigh.

One is a walking well of potential and future stories yet to be told – of relationship being formed and understanding growing .

One says: believe in me‚ in what I can be. invest in me‚ in who I will become. Listen to me; I will show you who I am‚ all in good time.

The other says: be here with me‚ as I’ve always been here with you (it feels like always). Let’s follow all our old favorite paths; let’s trace new trails now and then. But most of all‚ be here with me now.
